How to Apply

Please read the rules before applying.

We accept new applications from prospective members any time!

To show that you are able and willing to make the efforts necessary in being a member of an APA, please print out and complete the Waitlist Application, include a representative sample of the material you'd be submitting (which can be used towards your first trib), and post it to both FNC Editors.

We will contact you to say we have received your application, and to say if it is approved.

Once approved, you will have to give a deposit to the Treasurer to establish an account, used for common costs and mailing of each issue. You will get a notice when it is time to renew it.

This cost varies depending on the geographical location of each member, due to the varying mailing costs from eastern Canada. In general, though, Canadian members can be expected to pay around C$30, USA members around C$40, and International members near C$60. (Overseas mail must be sent Airmail in order to arrive well before the next deadline, hence the high cost.) These costs do NOT include any copying costs, which obviously vary depending on the size of your trib if you do not post it. Also, mailing costs vary on the size of the issue; these are averaged with issues in the 100-140 page range. Members do pay the specific mailing costs to them.

Posting pre-copied tribs is the best way to have full control over the final look of your section in the APA, although we usually use an excellent copy centre in Toronto at around 4 cents a copy. International members are not expected to post a full set of copies, so their costs increase accordingly.

If you have any questions, please contact us at for more information!

Thank you!
